Roberts County Museum - Early Indian Artifacts Display
Miami, Roberts County, Texas
Photo taken by Eireann Brooks in December, 1999.

These people were primarily permanent [non-migratory]. The farmed corn, beans, squash and possibly cotton. The small, round clay disc may have been used to spin cotton.

These people hunted buffalo, deer, elk, and small game. A large amount of bone was used for tools. Basket making was indicated by the long bone awys that were recovered.

Pottery was crude and of poor quality and no complete pots were recovered. They were excellent flintnappers as indicated by their flint tools and arrowheads.
