Roy S. Stollings

PERRYTON - Roy S. Stollings, 86, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Laverty officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Stollings was a farmer and a rancher. He was a deacon for more than 50 years at First Baptist Church. He was director of North Plains Ground Water District for 38 years. He was Farmer of the Year in 1980 and served on the school board from 1951 to 1962. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps and was a Sunday School teacher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Rhodie Stollings, and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Marjery; a son, Roy L. Stollings of Perryton; a daughter, Barbara Schoellkopf of Columbus, Ind.; a brother, David Stollings of Perryton; three grandsons, Ryan Stollings of Frisco, Jonathan Reinhart of College Station and Darin Stollings of Canyon; a stepgranddaughter, Julie Deckard of Columbus; and a stepgrandson, Tom Schoellkopf Jr. of Columbus.

The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 1272, Perryton, TX 79070; or Twin Oaks Manor, P. O. Box 369, Booker, TX 79005.

Vernon Hawn

PERRYTON - Vernon Hawn, 67, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Victory Family Church with the Rev. Marlon Sparks officiating. Burial was in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Hawn was in the Air Force.

Survivors include seven children; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be to Victory Family Church, 2322 S. Main St., Perryton, TX 79070.

Courtney Faye Wein Patton

PERRYTON - Courtney Faye Wein Patton, 10, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Full Gospel Church with the Rev. Michael Waterbury officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

Miss Patton was a member of Full Gospel Church.

Survivors include her parents, Darren and Krista Patton of Perryton; two sisters, Sarah Patton and Kaylee Patton, both of Perryton; a brother, Caleb Patton of Perryton; her grandparents, Larry and Linda Wein of Perryton and Orin and Barbara Patton of Leedey, Okla.; and her great-grandparents, Faye Burnett of Perryton, Bob and Carolyn Putt of Tucson, Ariz., and Lorna Tucker of Edmond, Okla.

The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.

Garnett L. "Hamp" Cudd

PERRYTON - Garnett L. "Hamp" Cudd, 94, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Ochiltree Cemetery with the Rev. Greg Kennedy officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cudd was a nurse and homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Perryton.

Survivors include a son, Coke Cudd of Perryton; a daughter, Betty Neal of Perkins, Okla.; a stepson, Bene Cudd of Spearman; a stepdaughter, Lucille Witt of Perryton; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Gideon Memorial Bibles, P. O. Box 254, Perryton, TX 79070; or Salvation Army, P. O. Box 1256, Perryton, TX 79070.

Mike Downey

PERRYTON - Mike Downey, 94, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003, in Houston.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Greg Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Downey was a farmer and rancher. He was selected as Citizen of the Year in Ochiltree County and was a scoutmaster for Boy Scouts Troop 49 for several years.

Survivors include a son, Verle K. Downey of Houston; a sister, Gertrude Godfrey of Ogden, Utah; two grandsons, Derek K. Downey of Tulsa, Okla., and Scott Downey of Austin; a stepgranddaughter, Grace Stefanescu of Waller; a stepgrandson, Alan Kuehler of Houston; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Herman J. Wagner

PERRYTON - Herman J. Wagner, 88, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Greg Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Wagner was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Perryton.

Mr. Wagner attended school at Lonetree, south of Booker. He played guitar and sang in a band that played for dances in homes. He was a veteran of World War II in the Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew J. and Thirzy E. Wagner; his wife, Frankie Kile Wagner in 1980; and a brother, Mart Wagner.

Survivors include two daughters, Gay Unruh Morris and husband, David, of Perryton and Gloria Mayfield and husband, Bob, of Jacksonville, Ark.; a son, Gene Wagner of Perryton; a sister, Leata Edge of Haskell, Okla.; and four grandchildren, Kendra Riffe and husband, Brad, of Remindersville, Ohio, April Mayfield of Little Rock, Ark., and Michelle Cantrell and Genelle Cantrell, both of Perryton.

Virgil O. Flaming

PERRYTON - Virgil O. Flaming, 82, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery.

Mr. Flaming was born Jan. 5, 1921, in Corn, Okla. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps, serving in World War II.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Orville Flaming, in 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Lora; three sons, Gregg Flaming of Borger, Kevin Flaming of Perryton and Lynn Lenderman of Lufkin; five brothers, Jay Flaming of Weatherford, Okla., Marvin Flaming of Perryton, Jerry Flaming of Branson, Mo., Larry Flaming of Tucson, Ariz., and Harvey Flaming of Yukon, Okla.; two sisters, Bertha McLain of Perryton and Luella Morrison of Grand Prairie; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
