Pauline Johnson
PERRYTON Pauline Johnson, 88, died Tuesday, April 29,
2003, in Lawton, Okla.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today in United Methodist
Church in Booker. Burial will be in Ochiltree County
Cemetery by Johnsonıs Good Samaritan Funeral Service of
Booker.
Mrs. Johnson was born May 28, 1914, in Perryton. In 1964,
she and her husband, Tom, made their home in Altus, Okla.
Survivors include a son, Charles Webb of Prairie Grove,
Ark.; a daughter, Linda Ingram of Lawton; two brothers,
Clyde Devers of Booker and Arnold Devers of Balko, Okla.;
two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Albert DaWayne
McWhorter
PERRYTON - Albert DaWayne McWhorter, 59, died Sunday, May
4, 2003.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Perryton Mennonite
Church with the Rev. Donald Stoll officiating. Burial
will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral
Home.
Mr. McWhorter was a machinist at Buzz Equipment. He was a
member of the Mennonite Church and served in the Army
from 1960 to 1978.
Survivors include his wife, Pam; four daughters, Dianna
Slaughter of Belton, Brandy McWhorter and Jennifer Woods,
both of Perryton, and Irene Fronhert of Germany; a son,
Charles McWhorter of Killeen; a sister, Sheryl
Weatherford of Eastland; two brothers, Bobby Gene
McWhorter of Amarillo and Danny McWhorter of Olden; and
three grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to American Cancer
Society, 2405 Utica Lane, Perryton, TX 79070; or a
favorite charity.

Leonard Ross
PERRYTON - Leonard Ross, 58, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003.
No services are scheduled. Arrangements are by Boxwell
Brothers Funeral Home.
Mr. Ross was born Jan. 26, 1945, in Perryton and was a
lifetime resident. He was a general laborer.
Survivors include a brother, Irvin Ray Ross of Rusk; and
a sister, Loretta Faye Ross of Perryton.

Rita Ann Hargrove
PERRYTON - Rita Ann Hargrove, 73, died Monday, May 12,
2003, in Amarillo.
Catholic Mass will be at 10 a.m. today in First Baptist
Church with Monsignor Raymond Crosier of St. Joseph's
Catholic Church in Amarillo officiating. Burial will be
in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hargrove was a member of Immaculate Conception
Catholic Church of Perryton. She was an administrator for
Senior Village Nursing Home for 33 years. She retired in
April 2001. She helped raise money for the Heart
Association at Senior Village.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and
Katie Hurter.
Survivors include her husband, Dudley; two sons, Mike
Hargrove and wife, Sharon, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Dennis
Hargrove and wife, Reiko, of Amarillo; two daughters,
Cynthia Powell and husband, Jim, of Perryton and Paula
Williams and husband, Ty, of Gruver; two brothers, Gail
Hurter of Perryton and Roland Hurter of Montgomery; two
sisters, Kathy Allred and Janet McLain, both of Perryton;
and 13 grandchildren, Travis Powell, Tyson Powell and
Tessa Powell, all of Perryton, Tucker Williams and Taylor
Williams, both of Gruver, Andy Hargrove of Tulsa, Okla.,
Kimberly Kerr, Melissa Dies, Pamela Hargrove and Shelly
Hargrove, all of Cleveland, Nicole Hargrove of Kuwait and
Shanon Hargrove and Christine Hargrove, both of Amarillo.
The family suggests memorials be to American Heart
Association, 3101 Garrett Drive, Perryton, TX 79070.

Opal Thomas Archer
PERRYTON - Opal Thomas Archer, 84, died Friday, May 16,
2003.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today in the Church of Christ
with Mikel Peterson and Terry Danley officiating. Burial
will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral
Home.
Mrs. Archer was a legal secretary and was a member of the
Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Gruver High
School and was on the state basketball team.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan E. Archer;
and her parents, Walter and Ella Thomas.
Survivors include a daughter, Danna Kay Archer Brady of
Arnett, Okla.; a son, Scott Archer of Perryton; a
granddaughter, Cathy Nelson Fryar of Houston; five
grandsons, Scott Nelson Archer and Joshua Nelson Archer,
both of Sugar Land, Daniel Thomas Archer and Michael
Burns Archer, both of Perryton, and Nicholas Morgan
Archer of Arnett; and five great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.

George Morris
PERRYTON - George Morris, 85, died Saturday, May 17,
2003.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Victory Family
Church with the Rev. Marlon Sparks officiating. Burial
will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral
Home.
Mr. Morris owned and operated Wheatheart Conoco from 1966
to 2001. He was a 1937 Perryton High School graduate and
a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen; a daughter, Sue Adams
of Perryton; two brothers, Alvis Morris of San Antonio
and Clarence Morris of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Bert Kite
of Perryton; nine stepchildren; three grandchildren,
Melodee Smith, Shane Smith and Zachary Adams; 23
stepgrandchildren; and 14 stepgreat-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.

Wanda Lou Gray
PERRYTON - Wanda Lou Gray, 78, died Friday, May 16, 2003.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Boxwell Brothers
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marlon Sparks
officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery.
Mrs. Gray was a homemaker and member of Fellowship
Baptist Church of Perryton.
Survivors include her husband, James; four sons, Joe
Robert Gray and James Steven Gray, both of Perryton,
George Edgar Gray of Amarillo and Jessie Lee Gray of
Miami, Texas; two daughters, Scarlett K. Turner of
Eufaula, Okla., and Patsy Sue Hunt of Perryton; 29
grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a
great-great-grandson.
The family suggests memorials to Ochiltree Hospice
Volunteers, 3101 Garrett Dr., Perryton, TX 79070; or to a
favorite charity.

Cristina Rodriguez
PERRYTON - Cristina Rodriguez, 15, died Thursday, May 29,
2003, in Amarillo.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Foursquare Gospel
Church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Jose
Gomez officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery
by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
Miss Rodriguez was a freshman at Perryton High School.
She was a 2001-2002 junior high cheerleader and a Cinco
De Mayo candidate.
Survivors include her parents, Pedro and Cristina
Rodriguez of Perryton; a brother, Jose Louis Pena of
Perryton; and her grandparents, Luz Pena and Maria De
Jesus Carvajal, both of Mexico.
The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
The body will be available for viewing at Foursquare
Gospel Church.
