James N.
"Jim" Lamb
PERRYTON - James N. "Jim" Lamb, 73, died
Friday, Jan. 31, 2003.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Full Gospel Church
with the Rev. Scott Barton and the Rev. John Durham
officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by
Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
Mr. Lamb was born in Canadian. He retired in 1995 after
working for Boxwell Brothers in Perryton for 40 years as
a funeral director and embalmer. He married Nancy Escoe
on July 10, 1951, in Las Cruces, N.M.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Lamb
and Regina Conley Lamb; and a sister, Betty Wilson.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Pat Rogers and
husband, Tom, of Oklahoma City and Lisa Gladney and
husband, Tom, of Houston; a son, Jimmy Lamb and wife,
Jean, of Eaton, Colo.; three sisters, Peggy Hermann of
Amarillo, Billie Johnson of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jeane
Baker of Phoenix; eight grandchildren, Alicia Barton,
Ryan Heckart, Mitch Symons, Brendan Heckart, Austin Lamb,
Kelsey Lamb, Shelbi Tuttle and Amy Lamb; and three
great-grandchildren, Brianna, Trinity and Marshall.
The family suggests memorials be to American Lung
Association of Texas, P.O. Box 26460, Austin, TX
78755-0460; or a favorite charity.

Genevieve E. Tevis
PERRYTON - Genevieve E. Tevis, 85, died Thursday, Feb. 6,
2003.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Christian
Church with Dr. Jeff Knighton officiating. Burial will be
in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
Mrs. Tevis was the dietitian for Ochiltree General
Hospital from 1966 to 1980. She was a member of Trinity
Presbyterian Church of Perryton. Following high school,
she received her bachelor of science degree in home
economics from Maryville College in Maryville, Tenn.
She completed her internship at Presbyterian Hospital and
completed her post graduate course from Texas Tech
University. She worked as a nutritionist for the State
Board of Control in Austin, and was the dietitian of
Ochiltree General Hospital when it first opened.
She also served as a consultant for the Canadian
Hospital. She was a former member of American Dietetic
Association and served as president of Perryton Sorosis
Club for two terms. She was honored as Mother of the Year
by Federation of Women's Club District.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace C. and
Amelia McCalmont; and her husband, Byron Tevis, in 2002.
Survivors include two sons, Denzel Tevis and Trev Tevis,
both of Perryton; and two grandsons, Trale Tevis and Ivan
Tevis, both of Perryton.
The family suggests memorials be to Trinity Presbyterian
Church, 1801 Drake St., Perryton, TX 79070; Dean Allen
Foundation, P.O. Box 1046, Perryton, TX 79070; or a
favorite charity.

Wilma Garrison
Gunter
PERRYTON - Wilma Garrison Gunter, 89, died Sunday, Feb.
9, 2003, in Amarillo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church
with the Rev. O.K. Bowen officiating. Burial will be in
Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gunter worked as Ochiltree County Deputy County
Clerk for many years. She taught Sunday school and served
as church clerk at First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and
Sarah Smith Garrison; her husband, James R.
"Jim" Gunter in 1970; a son, Jimmy Gunter in
1937; a daughter, Joan Gunter Kirkley in 1952; a brother;
and five sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Donita Fiskin and husband,
Doug, of Amarillo; a son, Ted Gunter and wife, Nancy, of
Houston; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Family visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon today in
the parlor of First Baptist Church.

Evelyn Leatherman
PERRYTON - Evelyn Leatherman, 92, died Tuesday, Feb. 11,
2003.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. today in First
Christian Church with the Rev. Jeff Knighton officiating.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. today in Ochiltree Cemetery by
Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
Mrs. Leatherman was a member of First Christian Church of
Perryton. She was a member of Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and
Bertha Fulton; her husband, Ross P. Leatherman in 1970;
and a sister, Bea Conner.
Survivors include her daughter, Gaynelle Hulsey and
husband, Don, of Perryton; a brother, Bill Fulton of
Amarillo; a sister, Bennie Reynolds of Bentonville, Ark.;
a grandson, Ricky Hulsey of Perryton; a granddaughter,
Teri Hollis and husband, Dwayne, of Amarillo; and four
great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to First Christian
Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1244, Perryton, TX 79070;
or a favorite charity.

Delbert Smith
PERRYTON - Delbert Smith, 72, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003,
in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Ochiltree
Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Staton officiating. Memorial
services will be at a later date. Arrangements are by
Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
Mr. Smith was a barber in Perryton for 47 years. He was a
member of Key Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen; three sons, Gary Smith
and Ron Smith, both of Amarillo, and Rick Smith of
Waycross, Ga.; a brother, Olen Smith of Perryton; nine
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.

Emigdio C.
Castanon
PERRYTON - Emigdio C. Castanon, 38, died Monday, Feb. 24,
2003, in Wichita, Kan.
Services and burial will be in Mexico at a later date.
Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
Mr. Castanon was a member of Immaculate Conception
Catholic Church. He worked for PFT.
Survivors include his wife, Flor de Maria; a daughter,
Bianca Flor Castanon of Perryton; two sons, Marcos
Castanon and Yael Castanon, both of Perryton; his
parents, Jose and Herlinda Castanon of Mexico; two
sisters, Yolanda Castanon of Mexico and Herlinda Lozano
of Perryton; and eight brothers, Noe Castanon, Eloy
Castanon, Jesus Castanon, Saul Castanon and Isauro
Castanon, all of Perryton, Crecencio Castanon of
Plainview, Abraham Castanon of Friona and Rene Castanon
of Mexico.
