Emily "Kirshman" Meier

DARROUZETT - Emily Meier, 95, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, in Canadian. 

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Phil Vickers officiating. Burial will be in Darrouzett Cemetery by Johnson's Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker. 

Mrs. Meier was born Oct. 7, 1912, in Shattuck, Okla., to Theabolt and Mollie Kisson Kirshman . She married Reinhard Meier on Dec. 14, 1930, near Follett. 

Survivors include two daughters, Julie Moore of Colorado City and LaVerta Schafer of Canadian; two sisters, Marie Estes of Salina, Kan., and Rosie Carter of Sulphur, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. 

The family suggests memorials be to Edward Abraham Memorial Home, 803 Birch St., Canadian, TX 79014; or Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 S. Fourth St., Canadian, TX 79014.

Theobold And Mollie Kirschman
Theobold was released from Russian Army in 1905
He married mollie Kisson on May 11, 1906 near Black Sea.
They immediately boarded a ship and were on their way to
America to make their home. They bought a homestead
southwest of Shattuck, Oklahoma and lived there until 1920
when they bought one half section of land one mile east of
Gaylord, Texas where they spent the remainder of their life.
Theobold Kirschman and Mollie were blessed with twelve
(12) children - six (6) boys and six (6) girls. They were sad-
dened with the loss of four (4) of their children, losing two of
their children while on their homestead in Oklahoma and two
after moveing to Texas. The 8 residing children are:
1 Theobold Jr. now living in Eads, Colorado.
2 Emily, (Mrs Reinhard Meier) Logan, Oklahoma
3 Hannah (Mrs Robert Yanke, Grover, Texas
4 Daniel married Eunice Booth, Los Animas, Colorado
5 Manuel married Lila Ginsman, Darrouzett, Texas
6 Marie (Mrs John Estes ) Salina, Kansas
7 Rosie ( Mrs Rosie Garbet) Oklahoma City, OK.
8 Emma ( Mrs. Glen Swedhin) Salina, Kansas
