"Pete" Sperry
FOLLETT -- Virgil Clarence "Pete" Sperry, 69, died
Monday, Sept. 1, 2003.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the United Methodist Church
with Dan Carter, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont
Cemetery by Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck, Okla.
Mr. Sperry was a lifetime resident of Follett, where he was
engaged in farming and ranching.
Survivors include his wife, Coeta; two sons, Virgil Neal Sperry
of Logan, Okla., and Rod Williamson of Follett; three sisters,
Marge Wilkins and Belva Padgett, both of Amarillo, and Faye
Kliewer of Follett; and two grandchildren.

Leta Paul
DARROUZETT - Leta Paul, 90, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2003.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Darrouzett Cemetery by Johnson's Good Samaritan
Funeral Service.
Mrs. Paul married Wallie Thomas Paul on Jan. 14, 1932. She was a
cook for the Darrouzett Independent School District for many
years.
Survivors include a daughter, Juanita Stockton of Woodward,
Okla.; three sons, Charles Paul of Iowa City, Iowa, Wayne Paul of
Lipscomb and Roger Paul of Darrouzett; 12 grandchildren; and
numerous great-grandchildren.

George Born
BOOKER - George Born, 73, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, in
Perryton.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the United Methodist
Church. Burial will be in Darrouzett Cemetery by Johnson's Good
Samaritan Funeral Service.
Mr. Born was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Darrouzett. He married
Laquita (Roles) Lermon on Sept. 28, 2002 in Amarillo.
Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Esther Garton of Booker
and Dorothy Lee of Denver; four brothers, Richard Born of Smyer,
Arthur Born of Perryton, Vernon Born of Garland and Gerald Born
of Booker.
The family suggests memorials be to Don and Sybil Harrington
Cancer Center.

Ethlyn Marie Messner
FOLLETT - Ethlyn Marie Messner, 83, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003,
in Booker.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Fairmont
Cemetery with the Rev. L.J. Ehrlich officiating. Arrangements are
by Myatt Seeger Funeral Home.
Mrs. Messner was born May 31, 1920, in Shattuck, Okla. She
married Wyette Victor Messner on April 25, 1940, in Beaver, Okla.
Survivors include a son, Victor Elmer Messner of Follett; a
daughter, Beth Marie Messner of Follett; three brothers, Eldon
Baldwin of Gage, Okla., Keith Baldwin of Kingfisher, Okla., and
Roger Baldwin of Ulysses, Kan.; three sisters, Bethel Brain of
LaJunta, Colo., Zella Hennigh of Darrouzett, and Tressie Tucker
of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to the Ethlyn Messner Memorial
Fund and may be sent to the funeral home.

Nedra Turner
DARROUZETT - Nedra Turner, 53, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church of
Darrouzett. Burial will be in Darrouzett Cemetery by Johnson's
Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker.
Mrs. Turner was born Sept. 30, 1949, in Lubbock. She married
Gerald Turner in Lubbock.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Jerry Dale Turner of Cisco;
a daughter, Sherrie Huntress of Mooreland, Okla.; her mother,
Rowena Stanley of Lubbock; two sisters, Linda Renz of Lubbock and
JoAnn Leatherwood of Valley View; and three grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church of
Darrouzett or to the Wheatheart Shriners Club of Perryton.
