Notes for WILLIAM MIRT SR. LUSTER:
"Big Bill" did most of the Turkey cooking for
our Family at Thanksgiving and Christmas, as he had been
a Cook in the Army, and was admired for his knowledge of
making,
"A MIGHTY TASTY BIRD", enjoyed by every one.
Information provided by Grandson Darell;
This story was told to Little Bill by an old friend of
his father's many years ago.
"It seems that "Big Bill" worked in the
Oil Fields of the Texas Panhandle, and as there was
little modern mechanical technology, most of the work had
to be done by hand, and as Big Bill was young and strong
he became known for being, "AS STRONG AS AN
OX", he would lift one end of a heavy drill pipe
while there were several other men on the other
end." He worked at a Roustabout, also Oilfield
construction .
