Westport Cemetery
Westport Avenue near Penn Street, Kansas City, Missouri
The land for this cemetery was given by Mr. Ed Price. It was established about 1835 and was about 200 feet square. The land is now occupied by the Badger Lumber Company.
The families of Wornall, Yoakum, Richters and Gov. Boggs had lots there. It is only possible to record a very few of the names of those buried there.

several members of the Boone family, descendants of Daniel Boone, were buried there. The only mention of the plague (cholera) was on the stone at the head of Elizabeth Richter's grave. One of the oldest dates was on the headstone of Luke Lea, an Indian agent at Westport. He was born in 1783 and died June 17, 1851.

In 1915 the Elizabeth Benton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution placed a marker to his memory in the wall of the Badger Lumber Company's building.
