RUTH SIMS 

Ruth Sims, 83, Pittsburgh, Kan., died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Pittsburgh. 

Mrs. Sims was born Nov. 10, 1915, in Sweet Springs, Mo. She was a homemaker most of her life and operated an in-home day care from 1960 to 1979. 

She also worked for her sons as a cashier at the Girard Golf Course. She was active in Cub Scouts as an assistant pack leader. She was a member of Eastern Star, American Legion Auxillary, and was a loyal volunteer Pink Lady at the Mt. Carmel Hospital. 

She was a member of the First Christian Church and was active in church's 20th Century Club and the Christian Womens Fellowship. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hank, an infant daughter, Anna Ruth, two sisters and one brother. 

Her survivors include twin sons, Pat and Mike Sims, Ft. Scott, Kan.; a sister, Mary Cramer, Blue Springs; two brothers, James Jolly, Urich, Mo., and Charles Jolly, Parsons, Kan.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the First Christian Church, Blue Springs. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Webb-Freer Funeral Home in Blue Springs.

ANNA PAROBOK DOBSON 

Anna Parobok Dobson, 70, Gladstone, Mo., died Thursday, March 25, 1999, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City. Mrs. Dobson was born May 14, 1928, in Sugar Creek. She worked at Black Sivalls & Bryson and with the Consolidated School District No. 1. She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church of Kansas City. She was a cancer survivor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Susie Parobok, and a brother, Steve Parobok. 

Her survivors include her husband, Glenn W. Dobson of the home; a son, and daughter-in-law Kim and Judy Dobson, Lee's Summit; a daughter, Karen Dobson, Independence; a sister, Susie Parobok, Sugar Creek. 

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the D.W. Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in the White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Gladstone. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions to the American Cancer Society.

EARL LEVI HAGAN, JR. 

Earl Levi Hagan, Jr., 72, Independence, died Friday, March 26, 1999, at the Independence Regional Health Center. 

Mr. Hagan was born May 12, 1926, and lived in the Independence area most of his life. He was a shift engineer for Standard Oil, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Rose Hagan, and his daughter, Emma Lee Green. 

His survivors include two daughters, Cathy Sue Holloway, Independence, and Martha Ann Reid, Adrain, Mo.; two sons, Michael Earl Hagan, Independence, and Mark Levi Hagan, Independence; a brother, Douglas Hagan, South Carolina; two sisters, Betty Jennings, Independence, and Jackie Williams, Independence; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

Services will be 7 p.m. Monday at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Friends may call the chapel from 5:30 to 7 p.m. before the services. A private inurnment will be held at a later date in Oak Ridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.

MICHAEL D. MATSON 

Šichael D. Matson, 43, Independence, died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at home with his parents, Anna and Walter Matson. 

Mr. Matson was born Sept. 22, 1955, in Clinton, Mo., and was a lifelong area resident. He was a supervisor at the Independence Regional Health Center, and had previously worked at Liberty and University hospitals. He enjoyed sports, wrestling and music. 

His survivors also include his wife, Carol Sue Matson of Independence; one sister, Dianne Sanderson, and her husband, David, and one niece, Shawnna Cooper, all of Independence. 

A memorial service was held today at the Speaks Suburban Chapel; cremation. The family suggests contributions to the Kansas City Hospice.

GLENN A. BLAINE 

Glenn Alan Blaine, 69, Lake Tapawingo, died Sunday, March 28, 1999, at his home. 

Mr. Blaine was born Nov. 10, 1929, in Kansas City. He was the owner/operator of the Okay Food Mart in Raytown for 25 years. 

He was a past member of Linwood Presbyterian Church, and a charter member of Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church. He was one of the originators of the Lake Tapawingo News, and was a member and past vice president of the Lake Tapawingo Sportsman Club and the Raytown Chamber of Commerce. He was a sergeant in the Korean War, and a member of American Legion Post 499, Blue Springs. He was a baseball coach and officer in the Blue Springs Little League for many years, and was involved in Blue Springs High School sports. 

His survivors include his wife, Arlene Blaine of the home; one son, Glenn Blaine, and his wife, Sally Mullikin, Blue Springs; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Lee Blaine-Hackler, and her husband, Danny, Blue Springs, and Gayla and Jim Hirst, Independence; and five grandchildren, Aaron and Adam Blaine, Jacob Hackler, and Lisa and Jeffrey Hirst. 

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 tonight at the Webb-Freer Funeral Home, Blue Springs. The family suggests contributions to the Kansas City Hospice.

DAVID A. "DAVE" STANTON 

David Arthur "Dave" Stanton, 52, Kansas City, died Sunday, March 28, 1999, at his home. 

Mr. Stanton was born July 10, 1946, in Kansas City. He had lived in many places in the United States, but called Kansas City his home. He was a roofer by trade and had been employed by Larry Vaught Roofing of Kansas City. He enjoyed fishing and golf. 

His survivors include his wife, Geraldine "Geri" Wolff-Stanton, and a daughter, Heidi Marie, both of the home; two sons, David M. Stanton and Dana Stanton, a daughter-in-law, Rachelle Stanton, and a grandson, Shane; his father, E. Richard Arnold, Archer, Fla.; two brothers, Ted L. Arnold and Steven Arnold; and five sisters, Julie Goodman, Carolyn Drozda, Nancy Martz, Sharon Coker and Kathleen Wolff. 

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the New Salem Funeral Home. Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. CHARLES T. BANKER 

Charles T. Banker, 84, Prairie Village, Kan., died Monday, March 29, 1999, at the Harvey House Care Facility, Prairie Village. 

Mr. Banker was born June 17, 1914, in Dunseith, N.D., and had lived in Lee's Summit and Independence. He moved to Prairie Village 22 months ago. He was a bus driver for the Metro from 1946 to 1978. He was a 1933 graduate of Lee's Summit High School, and after graduation, he worked for Adams Dairy and the Ford Motor Co. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and was a Bronze Star recipient. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 630. His wife, Ardyce May Banker, died Jan. 4, 1992. 

He is survived by his daughter, Charlotte R. Banker of Blue Springs. 

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Kansas City Hospice, 1625 W. 92nd St., Kansas City, Mo. 64114.

BESSIE N. CAIN 

Bessie Naomi Cain, 90, Independence, died Monday, March 29, 1999, at Baptist Medical Center. 

Mrs. Cain was born Nov. 6, 1908, in Independence, and had lived in Independence most of her life, other than 14 years in Fullerton, Calif. She was retired from Holiday Inn. She had also worked for Bundschu Department Store on the Square for several years. She was a member of the Liberty Street RLDS congregation. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Cain in 1963, and one daughter, Margaret Callonie in 1998. 

She is survived by 11 nieces and three nephews. 

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel.

FREDRICK L. KEIL 

Fredrick Lee Keil, 43, Appleton City, Mo., formerly of Independence, died Monday, March 29, 1999, at Ellett Memorial Hospital, Appleton City. 

Mr. Keil was born Nov. 26, 1955, in Independence and had lived in Independence most of his life. He moved to Appleton City a few months ago. He had been a pressman for the Kansas City Star for 12 years, and was a member and elder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kansas City. He was a 1974 graduate of Van Horn High School, an avid fisherman and enjoyed astronomy. 

His survivors include his wife, Paula K. Whiteman Keil, and two children, Heidi Joy and Michael F. Keil, all of the home; three sisters, Sherril Plunkett, Olathe, Kan., Janet Bendure, Kansas City, and Rowanna Jane Fuller, Belton, Mo.; his parents, Fredrick and Elizabeth Keil, Independence; his paternal grandmother, Martha Knight, Baldwin, Kan.; and several nieces and nephews. 

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City. Friends may call from 7 to 8 tonight at the Hill & Sons Funeral Home, Appleton City, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. LAWRENCE H. "LARRY" DALTON 

Lawrence H. "Larry" Dalton, 73, Kansas City, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at his home. 

Mr. Dalton was born Aug. 21, 1925, in Independence. He worked for the Ford Claycomo Plant for 17 years. He had also farmed in Macon County, Mo., and worked at Bob's IGA. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. 

His survivors include his wife, Marjorie Dalton of the home; two sisters, Norma Lemons, Platte Woods, Mo., and Barbara McFadden, Smithville, Mo.; four nieces; one nephew; four great-nephews; and three great-nieces.

NELLETHA PULLEY 

Nelletha Pulley, 86, Independence, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at the Rosewood Care Center. 

Mrs. Pulley was born May 8, 1912, in Joplin, Mo., and had lived in Independence most of her life. She had been active in the Eden Heights and Walnut Park RLDS congregations. Her husband, Ira Jefferson "Pete" Pulley Jr., died in 1966. 

Her survivors include one son, Steven Pulley, San Diego, Calif.; and one daughter, Susan J. Crowell, Independence.

MANLEY D. STAYTON JR. 

Manley D. Stayton Jr., 76, Kansas City, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at North Kansas City Hospital. 

Mr. Stayton was born Aug. 12, 1922, in Needles, Calif., and had lived in Kansas City from 1961 until moving to Independence in 1976. He returned to Kansas City in 1994. He was a claims representative for Social Security for 23 years, retiring in 1981. He had also worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 12 years. He was an elder in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and had served as pastor in Trimble and Nashua in Missouri. He received a bachelor's degree in history from William Jewell College, Liberty, Mo. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in North Africa and Italy. 

His survivors include his wife, Jean Stayton of the home; five sons, Don David Stayton, St. Louis, Mark Manley Stayton, Laramie, Wyo., and Bruce Allen Stayton, James Edward Stayton and Scott E. Stayton, all of Independence; and 13 grandchildren. 

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the chapel.
