Moore Cemetery

Section 12, Township 48N, Range 32

On farm formerly known as the Grinter Farm. Now owned by Hans Dierks. This cemetery is N of the new Jackson County Neurological Center on Little Blue Road, about 300 feet and over the dividing fence. It is surrounded by a chain-link fence, and is about 60 x 100. In 1989, there was only one monument in the enclosure:

Moore, William, b: 1757, d: 1843
Revolutionary Soldier
Enlisted Feb. 14, 1776 in Col. Morgan's Virginia Regiment
(handsome D. A. R. marker at grave)
Engaged in the battle of Stillwater and Chestnut Hill

Below this marker is a plaque:
In honor of the service in the War of 1812
Moore, William, Corporal
NS USD 1812

There is also another cemetery called MOORE CEMETERY. This is now a part of Unity Farm. Section 25, Township 48, Range 32
