They were the parents of eleven children. Their third child, Joshua Adams, born 25 June 1845 and died 25 December 1918. Joshua was married to Jane Lowe who was born 4 September 1844 and died 27 November 1904. Joshua and Jane had nine children. They lived near Reddies River; Joshua farmed and ran a grist mill. Like most folk in this period, the whole family shared in the work around the house and farm. Joshua and Jane Adams are buried at Old Mulberry Church in Surry County, After Jane's death, Joshua married Belle Baker and had five children. My mother Susan Jane (Jennie) Adams married John Minton Lowe, 27 September 1900 in Surry County. They later moved to Wilkes County were my father taught school, moved back to Surry and later moved to Iredell County where both are buried in Oakwood Cemetery. ----Mary Lowe Waugh (Mrs. William M.)
