Joshua Critchfield to John Critchfield, a Deed This Indenture made this 26th day of November one thousand eight hundred between Joshua Critchfield of the County of Washington and State of Virginia of the one part and John Critchfield of the County of Surry and State of North Carolina of the other part Witness that the said Joshua Critchfield for and in consideration of the sum of sixty pounds lawful currency of North carolina aforesaid to him in hand paid by the said John Critchfield at and before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt to hereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted bargained and sold and by these present doth bargain, sell and deliver unto the said John Critchfield a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Surry aforesaid on Bull run, containing one hundred acres be the same more or less being a grant made to the said Joshua Critchfield by letter patent of his Excellency Samuel Johnston Esqr. Governor Nc of sd State bearing date at Edenton the eighteenth day of May one thousand seven hundred and eighty nine, beginning at a pine on the South side of said run and runs Noth twenty five chains crossing said run to a spanish Oak, West forty chains to a pine, south crossing said run twenty five chains to a aposh Oak, thence East to the beginning as by the plat to said Grant annexed will appear, together with all woods, waters, mines, minerals, hired itaments and appurtenances to the said land belonging or appertaining. To hold to the said John Critchfield his heirs and assigns for ever, clear from all molestation or incumberances whatsoever of the said John Critchfield his heirs the binding and obliging himself and of them the said tract of Land every part and Article hereunto pertaining or belonging against himself his heirs and against all persons whatsoever unto the said John Critchfield his heirs, executors and assigns to warrant and for ever defend.
