John Clifton Wright, 75, Hamilton, Missouri, died Wednesday, April 9, 1997, at North Kansas City Hospital. Mr. Wright was born in Breckenridge, Missouri, on June 16, 1921, John lived in the Hamilton area most of his life. He owned and operated Wright's Garage and Wrecker Service in Hamilton for 45 years. During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps. He served on the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department 46 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Mamie: 4 sisters, Mildred Bridgeford, Helen Wright, Mary Jo Billups and Margaret Rush. On May 12, 1958, he married Audrey Miller in Hamilton, she survives of the home. Other survivors are 3 daughters, Donna Hartman of St. Petersburg, Florida; Deborah Frankenfield of Pleasant Valley, Missouri; and Johnna Perry of Liberty, Missouri. A brother, Jesse Jr. Wright of Albuquerque, New Mexico and 4 sisters, Effie Cunningham of Baltimore, Ruby Nicholson of Liberty, Luana Catron of Hamilton, and Ellen Evans of Cameron, Missouri, 3 grandchildren. A private family memorial service was held. The body was cremated. Family visitation is at the John Wright residence in Hamilton. Memorial contributions will buy shrubs to be planted around the statue that stands in Baby Lane at Highland Cemetery.

Funeral services for Raymond F. Russell, 38 year old Knoxville farmer, were held at 2pm today at the Saint Paul Chapel east of Knoxville. 

The Reverend Edwin Shelton, Kansas City, officiated. Burial was in the Knoxville cemetery. 

Russell was killed instantly Wednesday morning when a tractor overturned, pinning him beneath it. He was plowing a field on the Herbert Hauser farm one mile north of Knoxville. 

On January 14, 1939, he was married to Ethel Maude Butler, Knoxville who survives. 

He is survived by a daughter, Linda; three brothers, Harrison Russell, California, Clarence Russell, Saint Louis, Cecil Russell of Marceline, Missouri and one sister, Mrs. Opal Payne of California

Estel Butler, 76, of the Knoxville community, died at 12:25pm, Monday, May 12, 1997 at Ray county Memorial Hospital in Richmond. 

Mr. Butler was born February 27, 1921, in Ray county to Robert W. and Flora B. West Butler, who preceded him in death. He married Temple May Joiner, of Richmond, on September 3, 1947. She survives of the home. 

He was a retired farmer and truck driver. He was formerly employed at the Lake City arsenal plant. He had lived most of his life in the Knoxville area. He was a U.S. Army, veteran, having served during peacetime. 

Other survivors include one son, Jack Edwin Butler, Orrick; two daughters, Janet Tippit, Lathrop, and Jo Ellen Butler, Richmond; three sisters, Ethel Maud Teegarden, Knoxville and Zelma Kinder and Thelma Knuffer both of Warsaw, three grandchildren, Michael E. Marrant, Kevin D. Marrant and Chris Butler; one uncle, Lonnie Butler, two aunts, Pinnie Morrison and Maggie Estes both of Richmond; and several cousins.

Funeral services will at 1:30pm Thursday, January 9, at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, Missouri; burial in South Point Cemetery, Orrick, Missouri, where military graveside services will be held. Visitation will be 7-8pm Wednesday, January 8, at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Robert P. Yoakum Memorial fund, in care of the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, Missouri. 

Mr. Yoakum was born October 13, 1944, in Knoxville, Missouri to Millard Harlow and Grace M. West Yoakum. He married Mary Lynn Middleton of Camden, Missouri, September 1, 1973; she survives of the home. Other survivors include one son, Douglas R. Yoakum; of the home; one daughter, Marcie A. Yoakum of the home; one brother, Donald Ray Yoakum, Osceola, Missouri; one sister, Fern Still, Richmond, Missouri; and one granddaughter, Elle Yoakum, Saint Petersburg, Florida, in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Joshua M. Yoakum. Mr. Yoakum owned and operated Quick Silver Trucking, Inc. for 25 years before retiring. He was a 1962 Richmond High School graduate. He had lived in Knoxville, Richmond and Liberty, Missouri. He played semi-pro football for the Kansas City Steers. He had coached little league football for 14 years. He was a member of the Christian Union Church in Richmond, Virginia. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Ronnie was the Texas Midget Race Car Champ in 1982, 83, 84. He broke his neck while racing in Denver in 1984 and was paralyzed, quadaplegic, he regained his health, and started reaching again in 1986, an inspiration to any one he came in contact with. He again won the Texas championship in 1988 and 1989. He was killed March 9, 1990, in a Midge race in Dallas, Texas.

Billie M. Elliott, 59, Cameron, Missouri, formerly of Independence, died September 14, 1989, at Baptist Medical Center. She was born in Henrietta in Ray county and lived in Hardin, Missouri, before moving to Independence more than 30 years ago. She moved to Cameron two months ago. Mrs. Elliott was a member of the Stone Church congregation of the RLDS church. 

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Elliott of the home, a son, Terry J. Elliott, Cameron; 3 brothers, William Dove and Gene Dove of Cameron and Dale Dove, North Kansas City; 2 sisters, Bonnie Slinger, Grandview and Nellie Wyatt, Kansas City, KS; 2 granddaughters. Services will be at 1:30pm Monday at the Thurman Chapel, Richmond; burial in Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-8pm Sunday at the Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Wayne Edwin Feil, age 69, of Cowgill, Missouri and had lived in the Braymer and Cowgill areas all of his life. He was united in marriage to Rita Elliott on March 17, 1952 in Cowgill. She survives of the home. 

Wayne was a farmer and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Richmond. He was a graduate of Braymer High School. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ida Mae Feil, and one sister, Mary Louise Pickering. 

He is also survived by four sons, Edwin of Warsaw, John of Braymer, and Leonard and James of Cowgill. One daughter, Theresa Feil, of Warrensburg, and three grandchildren. 

The funeral will be held at 10:30am Friday, July 31, at the Black Oak Church near Braymer. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Braymer. Friends may call Thursday night from 7-8pm at the Bailey Funeral Home in Polo.

Deborah Tayler [Taylor] Elliott, 43, of Ponca City, OK., died Wednesday, March 23, at Saint Joseph, Medical Center, Ponca City. 

She was born December 25, 1950, in Worchester, Massachusetts, the daughter of Benjamin and Grace Taylor. 

In October, 1969, she married Ray Elliott in Kansas City. Mrs. Elliott had lived in Kansas City before moving to Ponca City, OK. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. 

Surviving are her husband, Ray Elliott, and 2 sons, Aaron and Raymond Elliott, all of the home; her parents, Ben and Grace Taylor, Harrisonville; 3 brothers, Benjamin Taylor, Taveriner, Florida; Keith Taylor, Gladstone; and Logan Taylor, Harrisonville; a sister, Joyce Burton, Harrisonville. 

Graveside prayer services will be at 2:00pm Saturday, April 9, in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.
